I already have enough to do reading food labels,and now I have to check my chocolate?! The friggin' Aztec's made chocolate with cocoa butter, and um, cocoa and vanilla- real stuff, so why is this not good enough for us today? Sadly, it comes down to my "Golden Rule", follow the money. Turns out Cocoa butter is expensive and therefore many manufactures of candy replaced it with PGPR(an emulsifier made from castor beans which reduces the viscosity of chocolate and similar coatings and compounds." Wikipedia goes on to explain that"It is primarily used to reduce the fat content of chocolate. Since 2006, commercial-grade candy bars, such as those made by Hershey's and Nestle, made an industry-wide switch to include PGPR as an ingredient - a possible indicator of a cost saving measure by the commercial chocolate industry." In addition, they are using synthetic vanilla, and artificial flavorings. Holy crap!

I would rather pay more for the real deal then drop dead from chemical side-effects. I will take my fat, chocolate filled ass crappin' out from too much sugar and fat then having some friggin' spaz induced attack from hyper- activity, (a theorized side effect of the PGPR) I already survived that phase of my life, and I can do it again,but I don't need chemicals helping me go off my freakin' nut, I can do that all by myself.

As if I didn't have enough to worry about, now I find I must be more careful about what the food Nazi's are loading up in my chocolate! Bastards. No chemicals in my life's blood please. I like fat from cocoa butter, real vanilla and cane sugar. Not PGPR, synthetic vanillian, and artificial flavor! Its chocolate ppl, it already tastes fabulous, so quit screwing with it, or I will sick my mules on ya!

Me and the mules are switching to strictly organic chocolate from here on out. I can live without food, but NOT chocolate. I gotta go, no time for more rantin', gotta load up on Rations before they take all the good stuff in the world and screw it up until were all in a "nice prison". DAMN

So I am posting in hopes of well wishes and healin' thoughts for Lucy. Took her to the Sawbones today and found out she has a potentially serious tumor on her hip. I scheduled her for surgery on Monday, and here's hoping we find out its benign, and that when they remove it, they get it all. The prognosis otherwise is such that I feel like pukin' wailin' and lockin' myself in a room full of wine and chocolate until my uterus falls out, and my heart explodes. This won't be one of my best posts', or really a funny one, but I feel as though I must be honest about some things in my life on here, and recently life has seriously kicked me in the face, trampled on my tender heart and left me in some difficult circumstances so I feel the need to spew. The Hubby, who got very very sick last Thanksgiving and continued to be ill and a medical mystery for the better part of a year, passed away at the young age of 61 on the 22nd of July, 2011. It was a stressful, shocking and altogether horrible event. Made worse for me by the previous deaths, also at very young ages' of both my parents...Dad in 2000, Mom in 2006. I had taken care of them both for rather long periods of time prior and it was no picnic to do the same for Steve. Dog Gone....

A storm blew into Queenie's world recently, and I plumb went 'round the bend. I decided that with all the recent changes in my life( Ya'll know they haven't been good ones) that I needed to downsize in some area's I would normally NEVER consider. I decided to re-gift a Mule. Pause here for dramatic effect. I can hear you all gaspin' in disbelief, and frankly, I can't even blame you. I felt like my guts were bein' ripped out thru my heart! I convinced myself that I was doin' this for all the right reasons, and that it was necessary. So, the other day, after much heartache, despair(these are my babies people!) I loaded up food and treats, hitched Stickers to the Wagon and roared down the dirt road toward town... I immediately told her to bite these people, eat their house, chase their old dog, and to harass their freakin' cats.
